Tallow balm is an all-in-one remedy, used for thousands of years to heal and moisturize the skin.

It’s packed with bioavailable nutrients and has many uses, including as moisturizer, face balm, diaper cream, or part of a first aid kit.

What Is Tallow?

Tallow comes from slowly rendered beef suet. When made correctly, it is a creamy and supple skincare luxury packed full of natural antioxidants, omega-6 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals in a highly bioavailable form.

Because it is sourced from natural animal fat, the chemistry of tallow is incredibly similar to that of our own skin. So when treating issues like dryness, acne, or eczema, tallow can work with the skin and provide the exact mineral requirements needed for collagen production and skin replenishment.

Tallow is quite literally superfood for your skin, and once applied, finishes with a natural healthy glow.

Why Tallow For Your Skin?

There are several reasons why tallow-based skincare products are great for your skin.

  • Tallow is an animal product, and its chemical makeup is very similar to our own skin. This is why tallow can help rapidly heal wounds and damaged skin.
  • Tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E & K. These vitamins are natural, not created in a lab. This means they're bioavailable and can be better used by our skin.
  • Tallow can increase collagen production naturally by promoting blood flow and providing the specific vitamins needed to build our own collagen.
  • Tallow is non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog your pores.
  • Natural Linoleic Acid. LA is an omega-6 fatty acid and an antioxidant which can rebuild the skin's natural barrier.
  • Tallow is naturally anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.

All-Natural, Locally-Sourced, and Handmade

At Western Provisions, we source our tallow from nearby ranches, where cows are born and raised on healthy Missouri pastures.

All of our tallow comes from cows that are grass-fed and pasture-raised without the use of synthetic hormones or chemicals of any kind. Our products are not white-labeled. They are handmade by our families, and we are committed to the highest standards.

If it's from nature, it's probably healthier. If it's not fit for our own families, we won't sell it to yours.
